Sump Pump Sizing and Battery Backups for Toronto Winters
I am planning to replace an old, noisy sump pump in our basement before the spring thaw hits. The current pump runs almost constantly during rapid snowmelt, and I am worried it will burn out when we need it most. How do I determine what horsepower motor is required for a high water table area, and should I stick with a standard 120V system or install a battery backup unit alongside it?
